Discovery Camps for ages 4-7:
All About Florida
Get ready to explore the Sunshine State like never before! In our All About Florida week, campers will dive into Florida’s rich history, unique ecosystems, and fascinating weather. They’ll create their own ‘mini mangrove ecosystem’ in a jar, learn how mangroves help our coastline, and build a ‘rain gauge’ to track Florida’s famous afternoon storms. Campers will also discover fun state facts, like designing Florida’s state bird—the mockingbird—through art and games. This week is a celebration of all things Florida, sparking curiosity about the natural wonders and weather of our home state!
Pirates and Mermaids
Ahoy, mateys! Set sail for an imaginative adventure in Pirates and Mermaids camp! Campers will build their own pirate ships using recycled materials, then test them in a ‘sink or float’ challenge to see which designs hold treasure the best! They’ll also create mermaid-inspired ocean art, discover real sea creatures, and embark on treasure hunts that ignite their imagination and immerse them in the magical world of pirates and mermaids. A splash of fun and discovery awaits!
Mad Science
Welcome to the world of bubbling potions, flying objects, and scientific wonders! During Mad Science week, campers will conduct a variety of exciting experiments that explore multiple areas of science. They’ll create their own ‘volcano eruption, ’ build paper rockets to explore basic aerodynamics, and make slime to learn about chemical reactions. Campers will also discover the science behind static electricity with balloon experiments and even create their own ‘rainbow in a jar’ to learn about density and liquids. This action-packed week is perfect for curious young scientists eager to explore the wonders of chemistry, physics, and more!
Safari Rangers
Calling all young explorers! In Safari Rangers week, campers will step into the shoes of wildlife rangers and embark on a thrilling journey through the animal kingdom. They’ll create their own ranger hats and binoculars, then head out on daily 'safari' adventures to track and observe animals in their natural habitats. They’ll conduct a ‘bird beak experiment,’ testing how different types of beaks help birds eat various foods as well as discover how animals use camouflage to survive by designing their own ‘hidden animals’ in an interactive craft project. Campers will also step into the role of zookeepers, creating their own ‘animal enrichment toys’ out of everyday materials, just like real zookeepers do to keep animals active and happy. From building miniature animal shelters to learning how zookeepers care for animals, this week is packed with fun, discovery, and teamwork. Get ready for an action-filled safari experience your little rangers won’t forget!
Carnival Fun & Games
Ready, set, play! Campers will jump into a world of circus fun, where every day brings a new adventure. They’ll not only explore classic games, but also design and build their very own carnival-style games using recycled materials—think ring tosses, bean bag throws, and obstacle courses! Campers will work together to set up a mini carnival, complete with prizes and friendly competition. They’ll also participate in team-based relay races and cooperative games that teach the importance of sportsmanship, teamwork, and cheering on their friends. With outdoor challenges, creative games, and plenty of hands-on fun, this week will keep young campers active, engaged, and excited to play!
Insect Investigators
Get your magnifying glasses ready for a week of outdoor discovery in Nature & Bugs! Campers will explore the fascinating world of insects and plants, learning how even the tiniest creatures play a big role in nature. They’ll conduct a fun ‘bug habitat’ experiment, where they observe how different types of soil, leaves, and rocks create ideal homes for various insects. Campers will also go on bug scavenger hunts, create insect art, and build their very own ‘bee hotels’ to help our pollinator friends. All About Tampa Bay
Let’s dive into the wonders of our local area in All About Tampa Bay! Campers will embark on a fun-filled exploration of everything that makes Tampa Bay unique. They’ll learn about the legendary pirate José Gaspar and the folklore behind the Gasparilla Festival, even creating their own pirate flags for a mini parade. Campers will explore the geography of Tampa Bay by building 3D maps, discovering the bridges, rivers, and landmarks that make our area special. We’ll also celebrate the rich Spanish influence on the area, from the historical Ybor City to local traditions, with activities that explore how Spanish culture shaped Tampa’s history. Campers will celebrate our city’s love for sports by learning about Tampa’s iconic teams like the Buccaneers, Lightning, and Rays, and enjoy sports-themed games. To top it off, they’ll dive into the local marine life of Tampa Bay, creating sea-inspired crafts and learning how we can help protect our waters. This week is a true celebration of the history, culture, and natural beauty of our hometown!
Superhero Training Camp
Calling all superheroes! In Superheroes week, campers will unleash their creativity as they design their own superhero costumes using everyday materials, then participate in a ‘superpower challenge course’ where they test their agility, strength, and teamwork! They’ll also learn about real-life heroes in our community and discover how they can use their own ‘powers’ to help others. For a science twist, campers will dive into the physics of flight by building and testing their own ‘superhero gliders,’ exploring the forces of lift, thrust, and gravity in a fun, hands-on experiment. It’s an action-packed week of creativity, science, and teamwork that will have campers feeling like superheroes in no time!
