Brushstrokes & Beyond: Painting Camp
Unleash your inner artist in Brushstrokes & Beyond, where young painters will dive into the techniques of history's most famous artists while creating their own masterpieces! Campers will explore the vibrant world of painting by experimenting with various mediums like watercolor and acrylic, learning essential skills such as color blending, brushwork, and texture.
Each day, campers will be introduced to a renowned painter—like Van Gogh, Frida Kahlo, or Picasso—and explore how their life stories and historical context influenced their art. From mastering the textured brushstrokes of Van Gogh to experimenting with the bold, symbolic colors of Frida Kahlo, and creating Cubist masterpieces like Picasso, campers will not only learn painting techniques but also the powerful stories behind these iconic styles.
Alongside daily painting challenges and collaborative mural projects, campers will discover the freedom of abstract expressionism, inspired by artists like Jackson Pollock and Georgia O'Keeffe, while creating their own gallery-worthy works. By the end of the week, each camper will walk away with their own personal art gallery and a newfound confidence in their artistic abilities. Who: Campers between the ages of 9 and 14 (We offer more camps for ages 4-14)
What: Project-based, hands-on, STEAM-focused summer camps
Where: Apollo Academy in Hyde Park (1309 W Swann Ave Tampa, FL 33606) 8 weeks of summer camps from June 16th to August 8th
When: Camps are 8:30am-3:30pm Monday-Friday; Half-day options available. Aftercare until 5pm is available for an additional cost.
