After school programs are available for Academy lower and middle school students. From athletics and robotics to cooking and chess, there are plenty of enrichment opportunities for every student to enjoy.

Extended care is available in the mornings from 7-8:30 a.m. and in the afternoons from 3-6 p.m. The cost per week is $40 for AM or PM care or $10/hour for drop-in care

The YMCA focuses on teaching healthy activity, teamwork, and family involvement. Our programs serve children from infants to teenagers and focus on helping them grow into healthy, successful, happy adults.

We not only teach martial arts we also teach social skills and character development. The social skills development focuses on “What We See, What We Say and What we Do” starting with our inner thoughts. Helping kids and adults to build strong self awareness and high self esteem, we give them the tools to overcome negative thoughts and the negative messages they receive from society through exposure to music, television, video games, social media, and bullies.

Children learn while being active in our state-of-the-art facilities. Our trained, licensed and knowledgeable staff can help parents sign kids up for enrichments such as karate, tennis, STEM, cooking, yoga, Zumba, archery, fishing, crafts, and more.

It’s easy to jump in a group exercise class during the work week. Classes are offered in the early morning, lunchtime and evening. The Studio at the Downtown Y features small group training classes and yoga classes in a studio separate from the wellness facility. The Downtown Y validates parking in the Fort Brooke garage after 5:15pm, up to two hours; enjoy a work out on new equipment and don’t worry about your car.
