Yellow Bird Studio's Summer Art Camp is loaded with a variety of fun and exciting projects for children entering Kindergarten through 5th grade. Each week we are inspired by a new theme, then we will bring our ideas to life with a variety of media and techniques. We have small class sizes so that our atelieristas can focus on providing your child with individualized instruction for projects that bring out their individuality and creativity. Pre-registration with payment is required to hold your spot-please see class availability. Please note the recommended ages for each week before you sign up to make sure the camp is appropriate for your child!

Age: Entering Kindergarten to grade 5

Price: $195 per child per week (except for Week 1: $155).  Registration must be done online.  If choosing the pay-in-person option, you may pay with check or cash, or Venmo (Yellow Bird Studio) the week of your registration to hold your spot.  

Cancellation Policy: Full refund if canceling by May 15th.  50% refund if canceling May 16-28, 2021.  No refunds if canceling May 30, 2021 or after.  No credits or make-up days given for missed days during the camp week. 

Special refund consideration will be given to families who need to quarantine due to Covid-19 and who paid for a camp.

When: Monday through Friday (except for Week 1, Tuesday-Friday)

Length: AM Session 9:00-12:00  PM Session 1:00-4:00 (No full day options; No before or after care provided)

Caregiver required:   No

Pre-registration: Yes, to ensure your day and time are reserved.  

Drop-in: No

Other:  We will not be having a snack time, however, you can send a labeled drink in with your child. Please come dressed for mess!!! 

 

Covid-19 Protocol: Children are required to wear masks the entire time and we ask that your child not come if they or someone in their immediate household is suspected or confirmed to have Covid-19.  We will conduct a temperature and symptom check at the door every day.  Adults will not be allowed to enter the studio to minimize possible exposure.  

Summer Camp Weeks and Themes:   

Week 1, June 1-4:  Under the Sea-  Mermaids and other ocean creatures will take center stage as we create underwater worlds for them with a variety of media that are inspired by the sea. 

Week 2, June 7-11: The Art of Star Wars:  In a studio not so far, far away, we will create 2-D and 3-D art inspired by the Star Wars movies and lore.   

 

Week 3, June 14-18: Mouse's Adventures: (Best for 2nd through 5th grade.  Not appropriate for 4-6 year olds.) In this very unique camp, children combine sewing, making, and story telling to create a unique story of Mouse and his/her adventures with friends in an imaginary land.   

           

Week 4, June 21-25: Into the Woods: From flowers to clouds, nature inspires the best art!  In this camp, we will explore the use of different art media to investigate and represent the beauty of nature.    

                                                                       

Week 5, June 28- July 2: Fairies and Unicorns: This week promises a lot of sparkly, rainbow filled joy through art as we create fairies and unicorns and their special magical homes.

Week 6, July 12-16:  Ships Ahoy: Calling all young Buccaneers!  Let's celebrate the salt life as we make festive boats and make art inspired by the deep blue sea.

Week 7, July 19-23: Fashion Camp: (Best for 2nd through 5th grade.  Not appropriate for 4-6 year olds.) This our third year offering the perfect camp for little fashionistas!  With a heavy emphasis on sewing, we will design hats, dresses and accessories worthy of any runway.    

           

Week 8, July 26-30: The Art of Harry Potter's World:  (Best for 2nd through 5th grade.  Not appropriate for 4-6 year olds.)  Calling all Harry Potter fans!  We will use different kinds of media to create art inspired by the characters and magical land represented in the Harry Potter novels.  

 

Week 9, August 2-6: Monsters and Robots: Sound the alarm- the aliens and monsters are coming!  Wild and beautiful 2-D and 3-D art will be the result of our journey into our wildest imaginations and dreams!   

 

Week 10, August 9-13: The Magic of Puppets: (Best for 2nd through 5th grade.  Not appropriate for 4-6 year olds.)  

Art, drama, puppetry and story telling will come together in this special camp for children who wish to explore an old, traditional, yet beautiful and fun, way of entertainment.
