Minecraft Modding Camp – Intro to Advanced Concepts

This hands-on Minecraft Modding program builds on introductory skills and introduces students to more advanced game design and logic concepts. Through structured, project-based instruction, students learn how to design interactive weapons, apply artificial intelligence–driven behaviors, and create dynamic game elements that respond to player actions.

Throughout the week, students complete guided projects that include creating epic weapons, programming fireball-based attacks, designing explosive mechanics, and building deployable structures such as a “house in a box.” Students learn how to use procedures, triggers, and conditional logic to control how items behave and interact within the game world.

Projects include:

Epic Weapons with custom abilities and effects

Mod Creation with AI and Fireballs, introducing advanced behaviors

Build and Boom, focusing on explosions and game mechanics

House in a Box, teaching structure deployment and automation

Instruction emphasizes logical reasoning, problem-solving, and understanding how digital systems work together. Students follow multi-step technical instructions, test their creations, and refine their projects through iteration.

This program is suitable for students with beginner to introductory Minecraft modding experience. Prior coding experience is helpful but not required. While some prior exposure to Minecraft modding or visual coding concepts is recommended, all students are supported throughout the program. Instructors actively assist students, adjust pacing as needed, and provide alternative approaches so each child can progress based on their individual experience and skill level.
