The community is invited to the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg for the annual free Holiday Open House featuring a tree lighting event in the museum’s Great Hall, live music, holiday cookies and hot chocolate for our visitors. Admission to the MFA collection galleries will be FREE for all visitors starting at 6 pm. (PLEASE NOTE: Special exhibition galleries will be closed during this event.)
Each year, the Museum of Fine Arts celebrates the holiday season with a holiday tree placed in the MFA’s Great Hall, decorated by provisional members of The Stuart Society and featuring original, custom artwork by a leading contemporary artists as the ornaments. This year’s commissioned artist is Miami-based sculptor Brookhart Jonquil, who uses industrial materials and geometric precision to explore theories of infinity and utopia. The ornaments will be available for purchase at The MFA Store. All proceeds benefit the Museum of Fine Arts.
